(MAPERECE)
Is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO) based
in Magu, Mwanza Region. MAPERECE was established in 1993.In 1994 MAPERECE was
registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under the cooperative
ordinance of 1954. In 2005 MAPERECE was registered again as a non-governmental
organization to operate nationally (Tanzania main land) under the
Non-Government Organizations Act of 2002.
The organization has 30 members, 67brunches of OP members,
06 staffs and 09 volunteers.
MAPERECE has worked in the following
districts: Magu, Missungwi, Sengerema,
Ilemela,
Nyamagana and Kwimba (Mwanza Region),
Busega, Bariadi and Kishapu (Shinyanga Region)

MAPERECE Mission
“MAPERECE is a
non-profit making organization based in Magu whose mission is to mobilize and
sensitize the public to discard harmful beliefs and values that contribute to
the killing of older people in the society. We do this through creating
awareness and education among the community, establishment of older people
forums, lobbying and advocacy of leaders and policy makers on a variety of
issues that affect older people.”
